Bruce Giffin describes himself as a "painfully self-taught still photographer who attempts to photograph how something makes me feel rather than show what it looks like". He has been closely associated with Detroit's Metro Times, as that paper's only staff photographer for about half of the tabloid's twenty year existence. During that time he has cover the city from north to south and east to west, from the downtown corridor to the distant suburbs.
