Dennis Cox has special relationships throughout the world. Relationships forged from more than thirty years as a travel and location photographer, most notably through more than forty photo excursions to China alone.

So on a spring day on a mountain in China, when the thick, damp, hugging fog finally rolled back after hovering for days, one might suspect that Cox had made arrangements for this special moment, just for his tour group. Clients join his Photo Explorer Tours for a chance to take their own shot of Huangshan Mountain in Anhui. A veteran of this mountain, Cox led his group on foot through trails that wind up around the edge of the mountain, and in cable cars that pull them up the steep mountainside to a place that, when the fog lifts, is famous for its misty swirling clouds below, its mountain peaks, and pine tree image shots.

Finally The Mountain obliged, as it had done for Cox before, and he and his charges, amateurs and professionals, started shooting like crazy. Within two hours the fog returned. But that was long enough. Story continues...
