Timeless Asia
Story by Sandra J. Wilson Photos by Dennis
Cox

Dennis Cox has special relationships throughout the world.
Relationships forged from more than thirty years as a travel and
location photographer, most notably through more than forty photo
excursions to China alone.

So on a spring day on a mountain in China, when the thick, damp,
hugging fog finally rolled back after hovering for days, one might
suspect that Cox had made arrangements for this special moment,
just for his tour group. Clients join his Photo
Explorer Tours for a chance to take their own shot of Huangshan
Mountain in Anhui. A veteran of this mountain, Cox led his group
on foot through trails that wind up around the edge of the mountain,
and in cable cars that pull them up the steep mountainside to
a place that, when the fog lifts, is famous for its misty swirling
clouds below, its mountain peaks, and pine tree image shots.
Finally The Mountain obliged, as it had done for Cox before, and
he and his charges, amateurs and professionals, started shooting
like crazy. Within two hours the fog returned. But that was long
enough. Story continues...
