[7-16-04] The view from inside the Medicines Sans Frontiers Clinic in the Touloum Camp of Eastern Chad. Touloum is now home to approximately 15,287 refugees from Western Sudan's new war, reportedly affecting 2.3 million people. The medical relief organizations are working overtime doing what they can on both sides of the border, but due to the massive scale of the displacement of the Darfur population, both in numbers and geography, most have little or no access to health care now. Malnutrition and advanced life-threatening diseases will continue to take their toll in the months to come.
