From the Editor's Desk

In this issue of Detroit Focus Online

This month the Detroit Focus Web site features the work of David Griffith. Dave has been a dedicated photographer for more than 30 years. The work he presents here is essentially a career retrospective. He tends to keep things simple. He dropped by my home/studio the other day with a well worn Lieca M around his neck. Guess Ive always seen him this way...always on, always ready to make pictures. David asked Doug Aikenhead to provide some background material for his work and his thoughts about a life in photography. This interview between these two long-time friends accompanies David's images. We would like to thank both of these individuals for their contribution to this issue of Detroit Focus, but more importantly we would like to thank them both for their long-term commitment to the Detroit photographic community.

This issue marks the one-year anniversary of this version of the Detroit Focus site. Starting in February 2006, we will be revising the site once again. We will be putting a renewed emphasis on depictions and photo essays regarding life in the Detroit area. And we will be streamlining and reformatting much of what is currently on the site. We currently are looking for photo essays that reflect the pulse of this city. We would love to see what you're doing and are open to suggestions for the newly revised site. Stay tuned.
